Dr. Jahnke received his Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1981. He then attended medical school at George Washington University of Health Sciences in Washington, DC and graduated in 1985. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in Presidio of San Francisco, California in 1991. He then completed a fellowship in reconstructive knee and shoulder surgery and sports medicine at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado in 1995.
Dr. Jahnke has spent 22 years in the US Army and was Director of the orthopedic surgery residency program at Eisenhower Army Medical Center when he joined this current practice in 1999. His practice includes sports medicine, reconstructive knee and shoulder surgery and arthroscopy, total joint surgery and general orthopedics. He is board-certified in both orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He currently holds active memberships in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Georgia Orthopedic Society and the Richmond County Medical Society. Dr. Jahnke has published numerous papers in peer reviewed medical journals and has presented original research at numerous national medical meetings.
Dr. Jahnke is an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Evans, Georgia. He has participated as a member of the Church Council. He has participated in medical missions internationally.
Dr. and Mrs. Jahnke have been married since 1985 and have three daughters.
